Getting Settled

I made the trip alive although I imprinted a nice ass groove on the driver's seat. I've made it through the first few days at work getting acquainted with the team and learning the basics, (Parking, traffic, coffee, desk). The place I'm staying at is a dive of a hotel. It's a corporate ghetto. The place is overrun with sugar ants, and you can't blame me because I'm not cooking. This is just motivating me to find a place to have the family move up.

I've been mapping out schools I think are acceptable for my kids, and so tonight I'm going to drive the areas to

  1. See what the areas are like at night.

  2. Find an unadvertised cheap rental in a great school district (hopefully).

  3. Get out of my cage before the ants regroup and attack.

  4. Get better acquainted with the area.

John,
Hi! Glad you made it safe to Virginia. Good luck with the ants. Home Depot has the liquid drops that they will all eat and take it back to the nest and all die within 48 hours. It is in an orange box and costs around $4. I believe it is called Terra.

You are still the talk of NCCI. Lil had a meeting yesterday to list all of the projects for the team this year. Now she is going to start passing them out to each of us to work on. She hopes to have a new person on the team to replace King's position in the next few weeks.

Good luck with the schools.

Hey John! Good to know you made it safely to DC. Sorry I didn't get to say a proper goodbye in person, but when I looked for you on Friday you may have already left.

I just made the "guys" clean up your cubicle ;-)

Stay good and lots luck with the job, search for new digs, and the ants.

Luv,
